Pizza Revo: Eat and Become a Believer

The “Revo” in this pizza shop’s name stands for “Revolution” — a fitting choice for what may be the best pizza shop in Fukuoka!

Although Japanese pizza has a bad reputation among expats, Pizza Revo (ピザレボ) may just change your mind with its combination of ultra-low prices (starting at 280 yen for a personal pizza!), delicious taste and original toppings. Flavors include classic Margherita, teriyaki chicken and onions, rich carbonara with bacon, seafood basil, mentaiko and broccoli, and even limited-time originals (green curry, spicy Mexican, etc.) and dessert pizzas!

The prices are low enough to make anyone suspicious, considering delivery pizza can easily cost 3,000 yen per tiny pizza in Japan, but take one bite at Pizza Revo and you will become a believer. Take-out is also available for get-togethers with friends or family.

Pizza Revo is located 1-2 min. on foot from Yakuin-odori Station (Nanakuma Subway Line), or 6-7 min. on foot from Yakuin Station (Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line, Nanakuma Subway Line). Click here to view their location on Google Maps. They are open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (last order at 10:00 p.m.), with a lunch special available between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m, and they are closed on the 15th of each month (or the next day if the 15th is a national holiday). Their website (Japanese only) can be viewed here.

Gosh! I love pizza, but yeah… Pizza in Japan is often the pits… I have found some exceptions, however! I’ma have to try this place out too. Dessert pizzas??? Never since my days going to Pizza Hut back in Canada have I eaten or even heard of such a thing! I’ve heard that the Costco pizza in Japan is pretty good, but I haven’t been convinced enough of that to try it…. :S
